Take 5 with “West of Elvis”

We’ve asked the filmmakers for the 11th annual Oxford Film Festival the same five questions. Meet Louis Bourgeois, director and producer of West of Elvis. This film will be screening Friday, Feb. 7 at 3:15 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 9 at noon.

#1: In 140 characters or less, describe your movie and why someone should see it.

West of Elvis documents a few visits to Graceland Too in Holly Springs, Mississippi. The film does a good job conveying information without compromising artistic vision.

#2: Biggest lesson learned in getting the film made? Best part in getting the film made?

Making a film is a group effort.

#3: Tell us about you. What is your movie making background?

This will be the third short film I have either directed or produced.

#4 What do you want the Oxford Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title or description?

That you can make a great film without leaving your back yard.

#5: What does the future hold in store for your film and for you?

More short local documentaries in the making.
